What is the difference between a straight shackle and a U-shaped shackle?

What is a shackle’s WLL?

What is the difference between a screw-in pin and a bolted pin? 

Screw-in pin: quick to install, ideal for occasional use  

Bolted pin with a cotter pin: more secure, recommended for permanent installations or those subject to vibration

Can a shackle be used with an angled load? 

Shackles are designed for use in the centerline. An angled or lateral load can reduce their lifting capacity and increase risks. In this case, it is necessary to adjust the working load limit (WLL) or use an appropriate configuration.  

How do you check the condition of a lifting shackle?

  • For wear or elongation of the contact points
