Make your construction projects easier with trench crossing plates

Heavy steel plates, complicated logistics, difficult installation? Gain flexibility with our reinforced composite crossing plates. A simple and modular solution!

Are you familiar with crossing issues?

What you have to deal with before switching to composite:

  • Steel slabs = 100 to 200 kg to handle: Using a crane or three workers to install a slab slows down your project and increases the risk of accidents
  • Noise pollution in urban areas: steel slabs vibrate every time a vehicle passes over them
  • Slippery surface with risk of falling: in rainy weather, smooth steel plates become a hazard for pedestrians and cyclists.

Why use a trench crossing plate?

Reinforced composite crossing plates help maintain safe traffic flow during roadwork and temporary openings. They replace traditional steel plates thanks to their light weight, stability, and low noise level.

Key benefits:

Safety: safe passage for pedestrians, commercial vehicles, heavy trucks, and machinery thanks to the non-slip surface that reduces the risk of falls, even when the road is wet

Quick installation: no heavy construction required

Versatile use: the crossing plate can be used for trench crossings, trench covers, restricted access, or passageways during construction

Flexible: allows the cover to be adjusted according to the width of the trench and site constraints

Reduced noise pollution: quiet during use

Maximum capacity: 44 tons

A crossing solution suitable for all construction sites

  • Roadwork
Maintain pedestrian and vehicle traffic during roadwork.
  • Telecom & Fiber Networks
Secure temporary openings in dense urban areas.
  • Water & Energy
Facilitate maintenance operations without interrupting access to sensitive areas.
  • Civil Engineering & Construction
Optimize the safety and productivity of your teams.

Why choose Altec France crossing plates?

• 44-ton load capacity: heavy trucks, construction equipment, heavy traffic—a single slab is all that’s needed

• 2-minute installation without machinery: manual handling by 1 or 2 operators. No cranes or lifting equipment required

• 80% noise reduction: thanks to the quiet composite surface.

• Non-slip: grooved surface, effective even in the rain.

Frequently Asked Questions - Trench Crossing Plates

Step 1 — Prepare the Area

Clean and secure the area around the trench.

Step 2 — Position the Plate

Place the plate on a solid surface such as concrete or asphalt and center the crossing plate over the excavation

Step 3 — Secure

Use the fasteners provided with the model to prevent movement.

Step 4 — Check the load capacity

Test before use to ensure the safety of pedestrians and vehicles.

Step 5 — Reopen to traffic

Pedestrian and/or vehicle traffic can resume immediately.
