FAQ – Loading Bridges and Platforms

What is a loading bridge?

A loading bridge (or loading platform or dock ramp) compensates for height differences between the loading dock and the vehicle. It ensures continuous passage for handling equipment during loading and unloading operations.

Why install a loading bridge in a logistics area?

The loading bridge secures the transition between the loading dock and the vehicle and facilitates the flow of goods, regardless of the type of equipment used. This device is also essential for operator safety.

Suitable equipment allows for:

  • A reduction in the risk of accidents in the loading area
  • Improved productivity during the flow of goods
  • Compatibility with the main handling equipment

Do loading bridges require special maintenance?

Regular inspections are recommended to ensure the good condition of the support surfaces, fastening systems, and moving parts. Proper maintenance extends the equipment's lifespan and maintains a consistent level of safety during operation.
