Forankra Retains Its EcoVadis Silver Medal
Forankra has once again earned its EcoVadis silver medal, an award that recognizes the company’s efforts in the areas of social and environmental responsibility.
What is EcoVadis?
EcoVadis is the world’s most widely recognized CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) rating platform. It is not a certification in the traditional sense (such as an ISO standard). It is an independent assessment, based on a comprehensive questionnaire and supporting documentation, which assigns a score and a medal based on the results. It analyzes companies’ practices across four pillars:
- Environment: resource management, carbon footprint reduction, eco-design
- Social and Human Rights: working conditions, inclusion, health and safety
- Business Ethics: transparency, anti-corruption
- Responsible Procurement: requirements for suppliers and partners
Environment: Taking Action on Practices and Products
Forankra’s environmental approach is based, in particular, on an ISO 14001-certified management system.
Several initiatives are also implemented on a daily basis:
- Waste management, sorting, and reduction
- Safe handling and storage of hazardous substances
- Use of renewable energy
- Improvement of energy efficiency
- Raising staff awareness about energy conservation and climate issues
- Climate change adaptation plan
- Greenhouse gas monitoring (Scopes 2 and 3)
- Consideration of product end-of-life and recycling.
Social and Human Rights: Supporting Teams
The social component focuses in particular on working conditions, health and safety, training, and skills development.
Among the measures taken are:
- Occupational risk assessments and health and safety training
- Provision of personal protective equipment
- Regular health examinations
- Training and skills monitoring
- Performance reviews and discussions on career development
- Prevention of discrimination and harassment
- Flexible work arrangements
- Measures promoting the inclusion of people with disabilities;
- An employee satisfaction survey.
These measures help shape the company’s social practices and support employees throughout their professional careers.
Ethics: Rules and Preventive Measures
Ethics is also an important component of the evaluation.
Forankra relies in particular on policies related to anti-corruption, conflicts of interest, money laundering, and information security.
Employees sign a code of ethics, and sanctions are in place for violations. Training, a whistleblower procedure, and systems for data protection and incident response round out this framework.
Responsible Procurement: Integrating CSR into the Supply Chain
The CSR approach also extends to relationships with suppliers.
In particular, Forankra has a CSR code of conduct for suppliers and includes social and environmental clauses in its contracts.
Supplier practices are evaluated, buyers are trained on social and environmental issues, and initiatives are implemented to support suppliers in their own CSR efforts.
Long-Term Recognition
The renewal of this EcoVadis Silver Medal represents recognition of the work carried out by Forankra’s various teams.
Beyond the award itself, this assessment provides an outside perspective on the company’s practices and helps identify areas for continued improvement.
This recognition also offers tangible benefits in our relationships with clients and partners. In particular, it can strengthen our responses to requests for proposals and increase visibility of Forankra’s CSR commitments.
