Forankra & Altec France showcase their load-securing and handling solutions at Solutrans

During the 2025 edition of the Solutrans trade show, Forankra and Altec France unveiled innovative solutions designed to optimize transport and secure loads for light commercial vehicles (LCVs) and heavy trucks. Safety, ergonomics, and volume optimization were central to these demonstrations. The show also offered an opportunity to meet industry professionals, discuss market trends and collect feedback from body builders, distributors and transport operators. Four key highlights marked the Solutrans event:

Xtradeck Solution: double decking system for vans and refrigerated vehicles

Among the innovations presented, the Xtradeck double decking system drew particular attention. This volume-optimization system, designed for vans and refrigerated vehicles, adds a second layer of load-bearing beams, enabling operators to transport up to 66 pallets instead of 33—without modifying the vehicle’s structure.

This system reduces the number of required trips, lowers transport costs and contributes to improved energy efficiency for fleets. Operators also benefit from enhanced working comfort thanks to safer pallet handling, which reduces repetitive physical strain and lowers the risk of MSDs.

The Xtradeck beam and its operating tracks ensure intuitive positioning, even in low-visibility areas such as the back of a semi-trailer and operate silently—an essential advantage for night-time urban deliveries.

Two versions are available: Standard (1000 daN) and Heavy Duty (1300 daN).

The latest innovation lies in a redesigned load-bearing beam featuring an optimized head profile that allows the beam to be stored at the very top of the track, close to the ceiling. When not in use, the beam frees up the maximum available handling space. Widely appreciated across the industry, it significantly enhances the everyday usability and efficiency of the double-deck system.

Load-securing solutions for light commercial vehicles

For LCVs, several safety-focused load-securing accessories were featured:

SmartConnect: connected to the SMARTBAR, this module allows operators to build a customizable and modular blocking structure inside a light commercial vehicle or small truck. Three new accessories have been added to SmartConnect:

• Block Support: a plate designed to stabilize and secure parcels or boxes

• Fixed Rack: a shelf made for transporting pipes or bars

• Clip Support: a hook adjustable in two positions, designed to provide optimal support for hanging tools, cables or various accessories

Ergobar Half-Grid: a blocking bar system for vans and refrigerated vehicles that effectively limits pallet movement, even for taller loads. Easy to use thanks to an ergonomic, arm-height handle, it also locks in a parking position.

Tracks and anchoring points: modular accessories that allow operators to adapt the securing setup to any type of load.

These solutions ensure reliable immobilization of goods while simplifying mounting and removal operations for users.

Load securing for heavy trucks: enhanced safety

Transporting heavy or bulky loads requires reliable securing systems to guarantee stability throughout the journey. To meet these requirements, several devices were showcased—each designed to effectively secure cargo, prevent unwanted movement and reduce the risk of accidents. Among them:

• Drop-side securing beam: prevents lateral pallet movement

• Corner protectors and edge guards: protect sensitive goods from shocks and friction

• Lashing straps: various models provide optimal load securing. Compliant with EN 12195-2 standards, the LC2500 daN model with reversed ratchet tensioner allows easier use and optimal tensioning

• Multistick pole: an innovation developed by Forankra to help drivers carry out securing operations from the ground, reducing MSD risks. It features five interchangeable heads:

• Telescopic Handle: equipped with latch fasteners for quick and easy head changes depending on the task

• CORNER-STICK Function: allows drivers to position 1.2 m to 2.4 m corner protectors from the ground, even on the top of the load

• STRAP-GO Function: lets operators unroll 50 mm lashing straps of various lengths with a simple wrist movement

• SECU-STICK Function: enables safe handling of drop-sides, controlling descent and preventing them from falling onto the driver

• CLEAN-STICK Function: designed to clean the windshield, mirrors and side windows from the ground

• MEASURING-STICK Function: allows height measurement of the load

Loading ramps to improve safety

Loading and unloading operations remain a major safety concern for all transport professionals, whether working with LCVs, flatbeds, trailers or plant carriers. To address these needs, Altec France presented a wide range of loading ramps—each tailored to a specific type of use.

For light commercial vehicles

RRD Ramp

The RRD ramp swivels 180° and folds in two sections, keeping the inside of the vehicle fully accessible. Designed for loads up to 1000 kg (with optional support legs), it is assisted by a gas strut for smooth, ergonomic and safe operation while preserving the vehicle’s payload. It is ideal for moving roll cages, lawn mowers, scrubber dryers or any equipment requiring a wide rolling surface.

RRK Ramp

The RRK ramp supports loads up to 1000 kg (with optional support legs) and features a non-slip surface, ensuring safe loading operations. It is perfectly suited for transferring lawn mowers, roll cages, scrubber dryers or similar equipment requiring a wide support surface.

For plant carriers

VFR 105 loading ramps

The VFR 105 aluminium ramps feature a fully anti-slip rolling surface, offering stability and safety when loading machinery onto plant carriers or flatbeds. They are available as removable models (fitted via track or support lip) or fixed versions mounted on a 60 mm axis.

For flatbeds and trailers

AVS 80 aluminium loading ramps
The AVS 80 range is suitable for machinery on tyres or rubber tracks. They feature a serrated, anti-slip surface and provide a safe solution for loading and unloading. Standard versions include a support lip equipped with two safety features: a removable dowel pin and a drop-side lock. Additional mounting options are available upon request.

A trade show focused on innovation and high performance

This edition of Solutrans highlighted innovative solutions tailored to today’s and tomorrow’s transport challenges: volume optimization, load securing and improved working conditions for operators.

The Xtradeck double deck system demonstrated its ability to transform a van or refrigerated vehicle into a logistics space twice as efficient—while reducing mileage, costs and MSD risks.

Load-securing solutions for light commercial vehicles, now enhanced with new accessories such as SmartConnect, also reflect the growing importance of modularity and customization in transport operations.

For heavy trucks, the securing equipment showcased reaffirmed the critical need for robust systems to protect large cargo and prevent on-road incidents.

Finally, the various loading ramp ranges—RRD, RRK, VFR 105 and AVS 80—illustrated a commitment to providing solutions for every configuration: LCVs, flatbeds, trailers or plant carriers, all while improving safety during loading and unloading.
